Q. An old filling has come loose. What should I do?

1. As long as there is no pain in the affected region please postpone the appointment for a refilling till after the lockdown gets over.

2. Please maintain good oral hygiene as because of the loss of the filling or its fracture there is a visible defect on the tooth where food can get stuck and cause further caries.

3. In case the affected tooth becomes sensitive use a desensitizing toothpase like Gelkam / Vantej / Sensodyne etc to decrease the senstivity.Remember to leave the toothpaste at the sensitive area for atleast 30sec before brishing it off.

4.Incase the senstivity increases inspite of using the above mentioned desensitizing toothpaste or there is pain in the affected tooth please visit dentist in a hospital, where proper ventilation and care has been taken for controlling cross infection.
